|
Cordele Georgia is the Watermelon Capital of the World because they grow the largest luscious watermelons. Cordele-Crisp County watermelons are always crisp, juicy and sweet. The Watermelon Days Festival celebrates the watermelon harvest and summer in the South. Festival activities include the annual Watermelon Days Parade, Watermelon Dance, the Watermelon Eating Contest, the Watermelon Chunking Contest, the Sweet Melon & Adult Seed Spitting Contest, Watermelon Gospel Sing and much more. A recent addition is a Watermelon Days special run of the Sam Shortline train excursion.
